Autumn/Winter Wedding Trends

Autumn/Winter Wedding Trends

We LOVE everything about weddings here at The Crown Inn. Thanks to our beautiful location and rustic features, you can dress and style the venue whichever season you plan to get married in. In fact, The Barn here at The Crown Inn looks just as stunning in the winter as it does in the summer months and provides a beautiful spectacle for each.

So, getting married in Autumn/Winter this year?  Looking for some extra inspiration?  We’ve got you covered with a round of up of the strongest trends the industry is seeing at the moment.

1: Colour

Pantone named UltraViolet the colour of the year for 2018 and we have been seeing much more of it through bridal party styles and accessories as well as the use of lavender in bouquets, buttonholes and table settings.  Autumn/Winter can see you take this a step further with beautifully rich, indulgent violets and indigos in your floral arrangements or even a deep rich purple for your accents in decor or the bridesmaid’s dresses.

Any tone of purple also pops beautifully against the other accent colours of the moment, copper and gold.

2: Crystals and Agate

We are seeing so much of this on Instagram at the moment and one of those leading the charge is White Olive Design Studio – take a look at how Jacquie Lawes has married the colour of the season, the accent of gold AND the beautiful agate slices to make uniquely stunning place names.

We can also see this trend through cake design as well with some magical, crystallised designs being created.

Is this something that you would embrace?

3: Hanging Floral Installations

We have long been fans of using the beams in The Barn to add ambience and design to the weddings we host, but this can be taken one step further with some beautifully romantic floral displays hanging over key areas of the venue.  Top table, altar, dessert table, bar… whatever you want to stand out in the room, a hanging floral installation may just be the answer.

How radical to you go?  Well, on the one hand, you have some very pricey Jeff Leatham style arrangements, or you have something more subtle yet still striking.  We are admiring the hanging hoop style at the moment and there is so much variation with what you can create, especially with some rich ultraviolet blooms, fresh foliage and a copper frame…

4: Wedding Wreaths

Another floral trend that we are loving at the moment is the wedding wreaths we are seeing popping up on Pinterest.  Not just for Christmas, they are proving to be a beautiful alternative for photos and decor that also allow for the inclusion of pertinent messages, directions or information for guests.

Mix fragrance with colour and fresh foliage to really add another dimension to your wedding decor this Autumn/Winter season.

What stands out to you?  Is there anything that you want to bring to life at The Crown Inn?  We are ready to host whatever magic you might be planning.  Just get in touch with Chloe, our Wedding and Event Coordinator to find out more: enquiries@thecrowninnpishill.co.uk
